Useless

Just got back from a hippie retreat where I wrote this story. It is not very hippie-like but it does have my typically character who may or may not be crazy. It is also another one of my Superman stories.

Time Velocity Squared

This story had a strange origin. A book on Chaos Theory talked about a scientist in the Manhattan Project who decided to live a 25 hour day. He moved in and out of the cloistered Manhattan Project society, on a 24 day cycle, like the phases of the moon. I was fascinated and tried to write a story in which the earth's rotation slowed leaving some people unable to adapt. The story refused to gel. Instead I was left with a story about the end of the world. More accurately, it is a trilogy of short stories with an Epilogue. Enjoy.

How to Win at Bonanza Bingo

In light of the recent massacre in Arizona, I dusted off a story about Charles Whitmore, aka the Texas Tower Sniper. I was 11 when Charles killed 14 innocent strangers. The massacre had a big effect on me and I eventually worked him into a story about cheating at bingo. My research into the game of bingo revealed that it is, in fact, impossible to cheat at bingo. I took this as a challenge and the result is the story you have before you.

Enjoy.

The Contestant

Here's a silly little story about a woman obsessed with game shows. It's a a bit dirty so please use your discretion. Enjoy.

The Fund

Another Rabbi Shlomo story. As you may recall, Rabbi Shlomo died at the end of Glatt Kosher. So you may assume that this is a prequel, or a reimagining of Rabbi Shlomo. I tend to use and abuse the good Rabbi whenever I write a religiously themed story. In this incarnation, Rabbi Shlomo has caught a bit of Messianic fever.

Imagine

Here's a story that will appeal to all you Beatlemaniacs. It imagines that John Lennon is still alive. It was written before Goege Harrison died so it is a bit dated, but still fun. I've packed it with hidden Beatles and John Lennon references; some obvious, others more obscure. See if you can spot them.

Memoirs of a Grinder

This is the title story of the collection. A fast paced adventure of unethical financial services salesmen caught up in a world of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll.
