Just got back from a hippie retreat where I wrote this story. It is not very hippie-like but it does have my typically character who may or may not be crazy. It is also another one of my Superman stories.

Time Velocity Squared
This story had a strange origin. A book on Chaos Theory talked about a scientist in the Manhattan Project who decided to live a 25 hour day. He moved in and out of the cloistered Manhattan Project society, on a 24 day cycle, like the phases of the moon. I was fascinated and tried to write a story in which the earth's rotation slowed leaving some people unable to adapt. The story refused to gel. Instead I was left with a story about the end of the world. More accurately, it is a trilogy of short stories with an Epilogue. Enjoy.

How to Win at Bonanza Bingo
In light of the recent massacre in Arizona, I dusted off a story about Charles Whitmore, aka the Texas Tower Sniper. I was 11 when Charles killed 14 innocent strangers. The massacre had a big effect on me and I eventually worked him into a story about cheating at bingo. My research into the game of bingo revealed that it is, in fact, impossible to cheat at bingo. I took this as a challenge and the result is the story you have before you.
Enjoy.
